Real projects. Real human mentors.
Learn through projects, with a real person in your corner. Operation Mentor brings free courses, practical work and human mentoring together across subjects.
Free participation. Beginners welcome. For young people and adults.
One application.
A world of questions.
Meet your first course
Our first course explores cybersecurity through a fictional application. Investigate its weaknesses and make it safer, from your first question to your final demonstration.
Five connected missions take you from “how does this work?” to explaining what you changed and why it matters. The Python lab runs on your own PC with VS Code and Python.
Choose supported, core or stretch work with your mentor. A sample Python course shows how the same approach can support other subjects, with room to find your rhythm.

Map the application, valuable information and intended permissions.
Investigate and demonstrate the supplied weaknesses.
Improve focused Python authorization and logging functions.
Work with synthetic evidence and implement a detector.
Demonstrate your work, explain the evidence and reflect with your mentor.
A person, not an answer button
Learners own the investigating and building. Mentors help them choose a next step, understand what they find and keep going when things get difficult. Each course has its own project, milestones and feedback.
You do not need to arrive as an expert. Your experience helps us choose the right support.
Each active course enrollment has a named primary mentor and a backup mentor, with shared feedback to keep support connected.
Coordinators agree course places and mentor assignments. Human mentors review the work and approve milestones, with support matched to the learner.
How Operation Mentor works
Explore courses across fields, subjects and subtopics. Keep several courses moving at your own pace, with separate work and progress for each.
A coordinator agrees your course and mentor team. Begin with a practical project and a level of support that suits you.
Bring evidence, questions and reflections to each mission. Your mentor gives shared feedback and reviews your milestones.
Meet one to one through a private external Google Meet link. Present your project and share your screen to work through questions together.
